HISTORY:
The CMR is a distinguished hôtel particulier built by Edmond de Rothschild and designed by notable Rothschild family architect Félix Langlais. It is significant as a prominent expression of the belle époch as influenced by French Classicism. The front entrance and steps to the residence were originally protected from the elements by an iron and glass enclosed vestibule. The 1880s vestibule was removed as part of the 1972 renovation project, and wider exterior steps and a mid-landing were added to mitigate the elevation difference between the court and the historic mid-landing.
OPPORTUNITY:
To reconstruct the historic front entrance vestibule and combine the installation of a mechanical lift to provide universal accessibility to the front entrance.
PROJECT DURATION:
3 Years
